The clinic I attended was well run, clean and tidy and appeared to be very efficient. The wait was considerable but not too long. The consultant got to the point quickly and appeared to cover all issues. It appears to me that the NHS is trying to cut down on services that are unnecessary, although this is a matter of opinion. I attend other hospitals in the area and they are all cutting down on services. One of the other hospitals I attend (Preston) wanted to discharge me before I thought I was ready to be discharged. I am |a long standing cardiac patient after 4 heart attacks in the last 5 years and to discharge me would in my opinion be injurious to my health. This said, I used to attend Blackpool Victoria before theses sanctions came into force and I had blood tests done every time I went which was generally every three months. I agree that this was probably unnecessary and they now appear to be conducting HbA1c tests on a 6 monthly basis. These tests seem to be at an appropriate level.
